The Welsh Beekeepers’ Association is a Registered Charity. It is an umbrella organisation supporting 19 regional Beekeeping Associations in Wales and working with a Special Interest Group, the National Botanic Garden Wales. Full Members of those Beekeeping Associations are automatically members of WBKA.
Members receive either a printed or an electronic copy of our quarterly magazine, the Welsh Beekeeper, with news and information about bees and beekeeping. Our articles cover national and international issues and news about Welsh beekeepers and beekeeping associations.
WBKA members receive insurance cover from Bee Disease Insurance Ltd at attractive rates. The basic subscription includes cover for up to 3 colonies, and cover for more colonies can be added if needed.
WBKA provides Public Liability Insurance cover, also known as 3rd Party Liability insurance, for all members without extra payment. Members can get a copy of the current public liability insurance schedule from their Association Secretary or the WBKA Insurance Officer.
To find out about joining of one of the nineteen member Associations affiliated to WBKA, click here to see which Associations cover your area and get their website and contact details.
If you can’t join one of the regional member Associations then why not become an Individual Member of WBKA? Please note that we only recommend Individual Membership for experienced beekeepers who do not need the help and support of an Association.
Individual Membership costs £20.00 a year, including BDI insurance for 3 colonies.
